Another reason to hate IE (Internet Explorer)
From a web designers perspective, IE has been horrible for years. The worst part is, that it is not getting better! It is almost as though Microsoft deliberately disregards any feedback it gets from the developer community. Why is it that we STILL have to make special concessions to our otherwise STANDARDS COMPLIANT code just to get a site to display properly in IE?
The latest attempt at a decent browser (IE8) actually regressed from it’s previous version, IE7. One particular bug that throws a great big wrench in template design, is that IE8 does not properly display “ems”. (https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/420411/rounding-bug-with-em-calculations) It used to, in IE7, but it doesn’t now. Thanks MS for adding hours of un-billable time to my otherwise profitable project just to make my site work in your browser before finally realizing that you took backward steps in your development!
In my humble opinion, MS should scrap the whole IE source code and start over with STANDARDS COMPLIANT code, like Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome and every other modern browser out there.
Let’s all get on the same page, guys!

I know. When is IE going to pay attention to the standards that the design world is supposed to? Grrr designing for IE is a true headache.
